Section 12.12.070 Projection, obstruction, sight distance and clearance.
1. The outermost portion of an overhanging device shall
be at least two feet behind the edge
of the established right-of-way, and the lowest portion of an overhanging device should be at least
eleven (11) feet above the edge of the right-of-way.
2. Any vegetation which overhangs public right-of-way
shall be maintained at a minimum
height of eleven (11) feet in height as measured at the center line of the adjacent public right-of-way.
3. Vegetation within fifteen (15) feet of the sight triangle
area right-of-way at street
intersections, alley intersections and driveways shall be maintained with a clear area between four
feet and eleven (11) feet in height as measured at the center line of the adjacent public right-of-way.
4. Obstruction Prohibited. No person shall place or maintain
any structures, fences,
landscaping, or any other objects within any sight triangle area of this section that obstructs or
obscures sight distance visibility through such structures, fencing or landscaping. Trees may be
planted and maintained within the sight triangle area if all branches are trimmed to maintain a clear
vision for a vertical height of one hundred thirty-two (132) inches above the roadway surface and
the location of the trees planted, based on the tree species expected mature height and size does not
obstruct sight visibility of the sight triangle area. (Ord. 143 (part), 1999)
