Section 12.16.050 Director powers and duties.
The director of city parks and recreation shall have the following powers and
duties:
A. Administering and enforcing this chapter;
B. Grant or deny permit applications;
C. Abate public nuisances related to trees and vegetation;
D. Order the alteration or removal of trees and vegetation
when they pose a threat to other
trees or vegetation to the community in general;
E. Make recommendations to the board pertaining to the
management of city trees and
vegetation;
F. Determine mitigation requirements for approved and
unapproved alterations, damage or
removals of trees and vegetation;
G. Make recommendations to the board pertaining to the
type and placement of trees and
vegetation;
H. Obtain expert opinions and arbitorial services as
