Section 12.16.110 Permit requirement.

    To protect trees, assure proper growth and health, and avoid death of the tree(s) no person shall engage in any arboricultural treatment such as trimming or thinning which effects more than twenty-five (25) percent of said tree or vegetation within public areas. This work must be completed by a professionally licensed tree trimming service and may not be performed without written consent obtained by issue of a permit by the city parks and recreation director. Any fee associated with this permit will be set by resolution by the council. A permit is not required if this work has been ordered by the city of Hamilton public works department.
