Section 13.16.060 Determining each user’ s public sewer service charge.

A.)    Residential users may be considered to be one class of user and equitable service charge may be determined for each user based upon an estimate of the total wastewater contribution of this class of user. The governing body may classify industrial and commercial establishments as a residential user, provided that it is determined that such user will introduce primarily segregated domestic wastes and wastes from sanitary conveniences. B.)    Commercial and Industrial. All commercial and industrial customers will be charged the same rates for volume usage as the residential customers. The volume will include a total metered usage exclusively of any irrigation water measured through a secondary meter. The commercial and industrial users will be additionally charged for the processing of extra strength sewage, which the city agrees to accept and treat. Extra strength sewage is any sewage having an excess of two hundred fifty (250) milligrams per liter (mpl) biochemical oxygen demand and/or two hundred fifty (250) milligrams (mph) suspended solids. The additional charges are to be as follows:

1.    Biochemical Oxygen demand:             $0.17 per pound in of 250 mpl
2.    Suspended solids                                $0.18 per pound in excess of 250 mpl
