Section 13.16.070 Payment of the service charge and penalties.

Each user’ s public sewer system base rate and sewer rate charge shall be added together to determine such user’ s annual public sewer service charge.
Payment of the user’ s sewer service charge shall be the duty and obligation of the owner of the lot or parcel of real estate served. The city shall submit a statement to the owner or owner’ s designated agent every month for the user’ s wastewater service charge. A sewer account is considered past due if no payment is made within thirty (30) days of billing. The statutory interest rate shall be assessed against any past due sewer accounts. This interest charge shall be assessed monthly.
Should any user or owner fail to pay the service charge and any accrued interest, the city director of public works shall give the notice prescribed by Section 7-13-4309 MCA and any amendments thereto and the charges and amounts remaining unpaid and delinquent shall be inserted as a tax lien against the lot or parcel of real estate to which the service has been furnished.
