Section 15.04.070 Building plans to be completed by an architect.

    A.    Any building project larger than a four-plex residential unit and any commercial building having an occupancy load of fifteen (15) or more as determined by the most recently adopted copy of the Uniform Building Code, shall have each page of the plans and specifications prepared and/or reviewed and stamped by an architect or professional engineer licensed by the state of Montana.
    B.    Exceptions.
    1.    Any addition to an existing structure wherein the added area has an occupancy load of ten or less;
    2.    Alterations to an existing building, regardless of the occupancy load, to which no primary structural or life-safety elements of the building are modified;
    3.    Day care facilities for the care of five children or less;
    4.    Private garages, sheds, agricultural buildings, and the like. (Amended during 11/99 supplement: prior code § 11.01.080)
