Section 15.20.020 Permit and insurance.
A. No person, partnership, corporation,
firm or association shall move a house or structure
for human dwelling or part thereof into, out of, within, or through the city without first obtaining
a house mover's permit for each move. An application shall be made to the city building
inspector who shall also require property damage and personal liability insurance in the amount
of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) property damage and one hundred thousand dollars
($100,000.00) to three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) personal liability. Upon
presentation of such application and policy or policies the city building inspector shall examine
the qualifications and equipment of the applicant to ensure compliance with all applicable safety
regulations.
B. The operation or movement of a
vehicle, combination of vehicle, load, object or other
things shall not be more than twenty-four (24) feet wide, twenty (20) feet high, overall length of
forty (40) feet, or weigh more than forty (40) tons.
C. Movement of any house, building
or structures shall be under the supervision of the
building inspector who may demand any precaution deemed advisable for the protection of the
streets. No house building or structure shall be moved which shall necessitate an extensive
deprivation to the citizens of the city of any public service. The mover with his/her permit in
hand shall make his/her own arrangement with all public utilities, fire department, and police
