Section 16.32.080 Blocks.
A. Blocks shall be designed to assure
traffic safety and ease of traffic control and
circulation, to accommodate the special needs of the use contemplated, and to take advantage of
the limitations and opportunities of the topography.
B. Unless impractical, block length
shall not be less than three hundred (300) feet nor more
than nine hundred (900) feet.
C. Blocks shall be wide enough to
allow for two tiers of lots except where essential to
provide separation of residential development from traffic arteries or to overcome specific
disadvantages of topography and orientation or unless the city council approves the design of
irregularly shaped blocks indented by cul-de-sacs.
D. Rights-of-way for pedestrian walks,
not less than ten feet wide, shall be required where
deemed essential to provide circulation or safe access to schools, playgrounds, shopping,
