Section 17.104.070 Prohibited signs.
A. Temporary or portable changeable copy signs.
B. Ground signs.
C. Advertising or lighting devices that constitute a
nuisance or safety hazard, including but
not limited to:
1. Exposed light bulbs or flashing lights exceeding twelve
(12) watts;
2. Revolving beacons or searchlights;
3. Strings, lines or streamers of exposed light bulbs,
except as temporary holiday
decorations;
4. Unenclosed flames;
5. Signs which emit audible sound, odor or visible matter;
6. Signs which resemble an official traffic sign or signal
or which prominently display such
traffic signs; and
7. Signs with moving parts.
D. Notices, political posters, garage sale, handbills,
advertisements or any other signs
attached, erected or painted on any tree, power or telephone pole, bridge, fire hydrant or official
public sign in any public right-of-way.
E. Pennants and balloon signs.
F. Abandoned signs.
G. Billboards.
H. Roof signs which extend higher than the ridge line
of the roof. The aggregate area of all
roof signs on any roof shall not exceed the maximum sign square footage allowed in Sections
17.104.125 and 17.104.130. (Ord. 225 (part), 2003)
