Section 2.36.040 Election.
Term. The city judge of Hamilton shall be elected to a four
year term in accordance with any
and all relevant election statutes. The first election shall occur as part of the municipal general
election held on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1999, and subsequent elections
shall be held on each municipal general election date every four years thereafter. The term of
office shall be from the first hour on the first business day in January following the election of
the judge to twelve midnight on the day before the first business day in January four years later.
If the office of city judge becomes vacant, the city council shall appoint a person to serve as city
judge until the next municipal general election when the judge shall be elected for the remainder
