Section 2.44.020 Powers and duties.

    The planning board shall have the power and be required to:
    A.    Act in an advisory capacity to the city council in the development of goals and objectives for the future of the city;
    B.    Act in an advisory capacity to the city council on land use, development, and conservation issues for the city of Hamilton;
    C.    Prepare and update the comprehensive master plan in accordance with Section 76-1-601 of the state of Montana's Annexation and Planning Statutes;
    D.    Conduct special studies and/or prepare special plans including the formation of subcommittees to provide data and input to the board;
    E.    Prepare and submit to the city council an annual report on the planning board's activities;
    F.    Prepare and submit to the city council the planning board's work plan for the next budget year;
    G.    Give advice regarding how to publicize and promote the city's comprehensive master plan to the citizens of the city;
    H.    Advise and aid the city council in the preparation of annual and long-range capital improvement programs in accordance with the city's comprehensive master plan;
    I.    Give advice regarding the approval or disapproval of plats or subdivisions in accordance with Section 76-1-107 of the state of Montana's Annexation and Planning Statutes;
    J.    Prepare and recommend to the city council ordinances and resolutions for the implementation of the city's comprehensive master plan. (Ord. 117 (part), 1997: prior code § 2.16.020)
