Section 6.08.020 Tag.

    A.    In the event that a dog tag is lost or destroyed, a replacement shall be issued by the city administration or its duly appointed license agent upon presentation of an affidavit to that effect, a receipt or duplicate receipt showing payment of the license fee for the current year, and the payment of a fee of one dollar ($1.00) for such duplicate.
    B.    License tags are not transferable from one dog to another, and it is unlawful for any person to cause or permit a license tag to be placed upon a dog for which it was not issued. Any dog found with a license tag issued for another dog shall be deemed not licensed.
    C.    Refunds shall not be made on any dog license fee.
    D.    It is unlawful for any person to place or cause to be placed upon the collar around the neck of any such animal, any counterfeit of the metallic tag herein referred to, without the license for such animal having been paid.
    E.    It is unlawful for any unauthorized person to remove any license tag, as herein mentioned, from any dog.
    F.    No collar, tag or other identification shall be removed from a dog which is apprehended by the animal control officer without permission of the owner or after the seventy-two (72) hour impoundment has expired. (Ord. 172 (part), 2000: Ord. 131 (part), 1998: prior code § 8.02.320)
