Section 6.08.060 Animals at large.

    A.    The practice of dogs or other animals running at large within the city limits of the city is declared to be a nuisance, harmful to lawns, gardens, shrubs and is prohibited. It is declared the duty of the owner of any dog or other animal to know its whereabouts at all times.
    B.    It is unlawful for any person owning or having the custody, control or possession of a dog within the city limits to permit the same to run at large within the city limits at any time during the year.
    C.    Dogs shall be prohibited in all parks at any time with the exception that leashed dogs shall be permitted in Hieronymus Park and River Park.
    D.    The animal control officer is to notify the owner of any licensed dog seized and impounded under the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 172 (part), 2000: Ord. 131 (part), 1998: prior code § 8.02.520)
