Section 8.18.025 Notice to destroy offending weeds, grass, or other rank growth.
The city clerk shall give notice to destroy offending weeds, long grass, or
other rank growth
within the city limits by publishing notice to the public at least once each week for two consecutive
weeks in a newspaper of wide circulation within the city. The last publication shall not be less than
seven days prior to June first. Such notice shall at a minimum advise the public as follows:
A. All owners of real property or occupants having control
thereof are responsible for
destroying all weeds, long grass, or other rank growth in prohibited areas by extermination, removal
or cutting not later than June first of each year and to keep the areas free of weeds, grass, or other
rank growth through October first of that year.
B. The city shall assess the owner or occupant actual
charges incurred by the city for the
removal of offending vegetation. (Ord. 171 (part), 2000)
